One thing I highly disagree with in her post is when she calls herself gutless. She isn't gutless. It takes courage to post a piece like that on the Internet -- on DeviantArt, no less, one of the most popular art hubs in the world. What I find highly offensive is the incredible level of self-righteousness we see in the post. Okay, she deactivate the comment section because she doesn't want to be challenged, because any challenge, in her eyes, is an advocation of child pornography.
She's basing her opinion off what she learned from her "law enforcement" parent. I use quotation marks because, well, this is the Internet, and I can say I'm the President of the United States. I'm certainly no one to advocate child pornography, but If Azeila Rose is here, I would very much like to ask her this: how many people has her "law enforcement" parent arrested, or helped arrest, whose charges included the solicitation of a minor for sex, and their behavior was linked to Lolicon or Shotacon artwork? And let's look at the fact that she's comparing Lolicon and Shotacon to adult porno -- live-action porno. She makes some decent arguments, and I agree with her for the most part, but some of these comparisons have me scratching my head. Lolicon and Shotacon are a major gray area here in the United States. I cannot speak for other countries of the world.
I'm sorry that artwork of minors engaging in any kind of sexual situations hurts Azeila's heart. It kind of bothers me, too, in the same sense. Artwork is artwork, though. The FBI aren't after people who create artwork of illegal activities; bestiality is illegal, how come no one's batting an eye at artwork of that? Rape and torture is illegal, how come no one is batting an eye at that? But as soon as a drawing -- a DRAWING -- even looks a certain way to someone -- a way like underage -- it becomes an issue.
